Beware of Job Scams

The Maruleng Local Municipality urges the public to remain vigilant and cautious of individuals posing as municipal recruitment officials.

It has come to our attention that scammers are targeting desperate job seekers, falsely promising employment opportunities at the municipality in exchange for money.

We wish to reiterate that the Municipality does not conduct job interviews via telephone or social media platforms. Furthermore, no payment is ever required at any stage of the recruitment process. Anyone claiming to offer a job in return for money is engaging in fraudulent activity.

The Municipality strictly adheres to a transparent and legal recruitment process. This includes the proper scanning and shortlisting of applications in line with advertised job requirements. Official job vacancies are published only on the municipality’s website: www.maruleng.gov.za/vacancies.

We urge the community to report any suspicious activity and avoid falling victim to these scams.
